{"id":4147,"date":"2020-05-28T22:15:10","date_gmt":"2020-05-28T22:15:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.futuresandoptions.gr\/en\/?p=4147"},"modified":"2020-05-30T09:39:29","modified_gmt":"2020-05-30T09:39:29","slug":"dock-releases-the-first-w3c-credential-verifier","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.futuresandoptions.gr\/en\/dock-releases-the-first-w3c-credential-verifier\/","title":{"rendered":"Dock releases the first W3C credential verifier"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Friday 22nd May San Francisco, CA.<\/strong>&nbsp;Today,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dock.io\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dock Systems Inc<\/a>, a blockchain company specializing in verifiable credentials announced that they have released the first public W3C credential verifier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The verifier utilises the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/vc-data-model\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Verifiable Credentials Data Model<\/a>&nbsp;(VCDM) &#8211; a standard born out of a work of a diverse international community of experts and by an organization which has been at the forefront of software standards for 30 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The verifier is&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/docknetwork\/vcdm-verifier\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">open-source<\/a>, free for anyone to use and is available on the Dock website:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/verifier.dock.io\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/verifier.dock.io\/<\/a>. The tool can be used to represent any VCDM compliant claims, such as; academic achievement, licenses, identity, health records and more across multiple industry sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These credentials are signed cryptographically by the issuer which serves to confirm their authenticity and enable the claims contained within to be verified instantly by anyone. This is in contrast to the costly and time-intensive manual claim verification still in use today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking of the verifier release, CEO Nick Lambert said: \u201cVerifiable credentials will play a large role in many aspects of our lives in the future and we hope that this verifier, and the visual evidence it provides, serves to demonstrate the value of this technology moving forward.
